Wrightsville Beach Half Marathon – 1:24:34, 2nd age group, 31st overall (~1800). Perfect race conditions (~50F at start, 60F at finish, low wind, overcast, and a super flat course!). Started a little faster than planned, and negative split the second half by about 6 seconds/mile.

Place: 6th AG, 47/222 OA
Time: 1:44.45
This is a very scenic, challenging, hilly course in Youngstown. Did I mention hilly? 19 hills over the 13.2 miles to be exact! This year, the 2 in of fresh snow and temps at 17 degrees added an interesting dimension to the downhills and the water (ice cubes/slushy) stops. Staying upright on my feet was a task in itself. The race felt like it should have been an Alpine event at the Winter Olympics. This race was an enjoyable experience and hopefully will help prepare me for the hills in Boston.
2014 Indoor Tri at Life Center Plus
Only in our second year the event was a sell out! Thanks to all the team members who helped make it run so smoothly, we could not have had the success we did without you. Another huge shout-out to the sponsors for the wonderful raffle gifts. Eddy`s Bike, Ritchie`s Sporting Goods, Life Center Plus, North Coast Multisport, Doctors of Optometry, FreshStart Diner, Toth Buick, Gavin Scott Salon and a Life Center members Avon gift basket! Over 25 racers received raffle prizes. Thanks to Hammer products for the swag bags and Heed nutrition drink. EarthFare was also there with nutrition for the athletes.
