Race Recap By Josh Keane:

I am not sure why, but the races with unpredictable weather, terrain and temperatures always seem to be my favorites! This was our first time tunning the Dirty Snowflake and it did not disappoint! Very unique set up with a two mile course and two race options. The aid station was in doors with great food, support and a chili cook off! Option one was the 3×2 which you could run as many loops as you wanted (take breaks in between loops, eat some chili, take a nap), then your three fastest laps would be your finish. The other option was to run all four hours and compete for the most loops completed. The course wax a frozen tundra at the start of the race and slowly got beat down as the day went on. A very challenging day on a fairly flat two mile course. I was certainly not setting any personal PR but somehow still managed to win first in my age group.

Race Recap By Lisa Keane:

Dirty Snowflake 4 Hour and 3×2 Mile
Easy directions and plenty of parking close to the start / finish line.  Organized packet pick up and indoor staging / restrooms.
Chip timing for this well marked, 2 mile loop on half road / half trail with minimal elevation. Unique race allows you to choose a 4 hour endurance run to get as many loops as you can or 3×2 counts your fastest 3 loops. Individual start / finish mats gives you the option to rest, fuel, change, etc.. between loops without time penalty. Monitor the rolling results posted throughout the race to determine if you want to try to improve your time or go out for an extra fun loop or two!
Cold temps made conditions extra icy and challenging this year!  Well stocked aid station.
Several vendors with give a ways and a chili cook off for you to sample and then vote for your favorite!
Short sleeve tees / hoodies and finisher medals for all participants.  3rd place age group earned me a nice pin for my ribbon!
