Race Recap By Kris Engstrom:

I ran the Shamrock 5K in Cuyahoga Falls today. Great seeing all the Team ER runners today. many teammates today!! Thanks to Josh Ritchie and Mickey Rzymek for putting on another great event. I finished 2nd in my age group at 25:09 with a pace of 8:05. The rain, wind and lightning made it entertaining. Great hoodie.

Race Recap By Steve Zenar:

I had fun running the Shamrock 5K / 10K. Albeit the weather didn’t cooperate, it was great to get out and run with so many Team-ER team members! Thanks to all for making the best of the situation and wish you all a safe, fun, and happy St Patty’s Day! We will have to go after that 10K next year

Race Recap By Lisa Keane:

Super fun and well attended St. Patty’s Day race! This is our 3rd consecutive year in attendance and Summit Athletic Running Club does not disappoint!
Easy directions with plenty of free parking close to the start / finish.
Super organized with Indoor packet pick up / staging / restrooms/ award area
Chip timing for a flat out and back, well marked road race with one water stop and plenty of volunteers / police presence for safety
Choose one loop or two for your 5K / 10K distance
Both distances start together
This year Mother Nature may have had one too many green beverages and she decided to throw in a Thunderstorm and Tornado Watch about 20 minutes in so the Race Director had to make a safety call and cancel the 10K mid race.
To make it up to all the 10K runners, they handed out the coveted bobble head awards for top 3 male / female and age group winners six deep!
All athletes receive a soft sweatshirt / hoodie and nice variety of fruit / sweet / salty snacks.

Race Recap By Josh Keane:

Bobble heads, hoodies and shamrocks! Another fun event with a strong Team ER showing. The entire team showed up in force, volunteering and running. The Shamrock 5k was well run as usual and the indoor facilities were much appreciated with the weather. Due to lightening the 10K was eliminated and everyone became 5K runners. I probably would have pushed a little harder with that but if information early on but still pulled out fourth place in my age group. Another fantastic day with Team ER and we will certainly do this one again.

Race Recap By Mike Williams:

Our 10K got cut short today due to weather and was changed into a 5K.  Overall a great day to run with some good friends.  I placed 5th in my division and took home a bobble head award as well as a raffle prize basket.

Race Recap By Terri Bednar:

I did the Shamrock (SARC) today. I had signed up for 10K but was changed to 5K due to weather. Race staff did a great job pivoting with the crazy weather! Fun flat and fast course. Age group winners got a cute bobble head awards.  I finished 2nd in my division and Just took home my third one. I like this race. Well organized, easy parking, clean bathrooms and packet pickup is always a breeze. I will do this race again !

Race Recap By Nancy Wardell:

I completed the Shamrock 10K.  It ended up being a 5k today in Cuyahoga Falls, OH. I loved seeing so many teammates today!! Thank you for taking the pictures and hanging out afterwards for a little bit! Great seeing Mickey Rzymek and Josh Ritchie organizing the event and making the magic happen and loved all the snacks and inside location for the awards afterwards too! I had fun volunteering to hand out the bobble heads afterwards!  I finished 7th in my age group at 29:57 with a pace of 9:38.

Race Recap By Brittany Kiehl:

There was plenty of parking and packet pickup was easy. You could hang out inside the middle school gym before and after the race. They made the decision to convert the 10K to a 5K after there was thunder and lightning during the race. So they did the first six to place in each age group. Everyone received a very soft sweatshirt (5K) or hoodie (10K).
The course had a few hills with one giant downhill in the middle. You ran mostly in one of the neighborhoods next to the school. About halfway into the race, there was heavy rain and wind along with some thunder and lightning.
It was fun having so many Team ER members at the race. One of the perks of being a slower runner is that you have all your team members at the finish line cheering you on. So you can dig deep and push to beat the three ladies with bows you’ve been behind the entire race.
Race Recap By Scott Orlando:
I had a great time today volunteering at the Summit Athletic Running Club Shamrock 5K and 10K.
It was great to see so many Team-ER members brave the rain and gusting winds making it to the finish line Congratulations to everyone that earned their bobble head awards!
Thank you to Josh Ritchie, Mickey Rzymek, Summit Athletic Running Club, and all the volunteers that put on another great race.
Congratulations to everyone that survived the crazy weather and crossed the finish line.

Race Recap By George McFall:

The Yuengling Shamrock Marathon Weekend in Virginia Beach was so much fun. There is an 8k held on Saturday and the 1/2 marathon and full marathon takes places on Sunday. I ran the 1/2 marathon. The race course was super flat and fast and went thru Fort Story Naval Base which was really cool. The last half mile was on the boardwalk with the finish line right at the Neptune Statue. There were over 5700 half marathon runners. I finished with a time of 1:36:21: 7:22 pace. My goal was 1:33. I placed 9th in my age group. There was an after race party in a tent set up on the beach with live music from the Spazmatics. It was great to reconnect with friends and do a little dancing and drinking (4 free drink tickets). I highly recommend this race. It is worth the 8 hour drive from Cleveland / Akron. This was my first time in Virginia Beach.

Race Recap By Kevin Christensen:

Virginia Beach 8K is a great experience and part of a great race weekend. The 8K was on Saturday with the half and full on Sunday. I ran in the 8K and worked the start corrals for the marathon and then poured beer for 5 hours for the half/full after party. The race is well organized and has a super flat route.

Race Recap By John Fabianich McClay:

This year’s Mo Spring Marathon was a true test of endurance. The race began with a torrential downpour, rendering the course a muddy mess. I applaud all runners who persevered to the finish line. Personally, I secured 11th place overall and first place in my age group. My wife, Lynett McClay, also deserves recognition for her outstanding finish. Kudos to Western Reserve Racing for hosting a well-organized event.

Race Recap By Lynett McClay:

MO Spring 1/2 Marathon: Rising to the Challenge. A dramatic lightning show on our way to the starting line set the tone, accompanied by a picturesque sunrise with a red sky after the storm. The race began as scheduled. At approximately 1.5 miles, heavy rain started, persisting for much of the event. The course presented numerous obstacles, including mud and hills. In contrast, the aid stations showcased exemplary planning, offering a range of snacks and beverages to support participants. The uphill finish added an additional layer of difficulty. Although my performance was not outstanding, I achieved a third-place finish in my age group, as indicated by the official results. We look forward to participating in this race again.
