Race Recap By Lynett McClay:

As a “Crew Mom” at the Georgia Death Race, which covers a distance of approximately 74 miles, I encountered a demanding yet enjoyable experience. My primary responsibility was to ensure John had all necessary items for his inaugural participation in this event. The day commenced with a 2:30 a.m. drop-off, followed by relentless travel to locate the subsequent aid station. The first stop was an hour away, requiring a bus ride to the mile 21 aid station, where crew members were allowed. A further bus ride was necessary to reach the mile 27 aid station, and a 45-minute drive on a rocky, dusty road enabled access to the mile 43 aid station. Following this, John was not seen again until the race concluded. The packet pickup was held at a beautiful mountain lodge, where John Mark Fabianich Mcclay was required to wear a vest containing mandatory supplies. The process of obtaining his bib number, hat, and glass was efficiently managed, with minimal lines. The mandatory meeting took place on the lodge’s balcony, offering a stunning mountain view. John Mark Fabianich Mcclay had an outstanding performance and finished strong. I will let him brag about his accomplishment

Race Recap By Josh Keane:

We definitely got to flirt with the dirt! This course was challenging with a lot of elevation changes, tough muddy sections, beautiful views and a lot of dirt! The 2025 Flirt with Dirt 10k and Half Marathon was a great race. Part of the Dirty Trail Series and very well supported. Team ER definitely showed up and performed well. I was fortunate enough to pull out a 2nd place in my age group. We will likely do this one again.

Race Recap By Lisa Keane:

The 3rd of 8 in the Dirty Trail Series – this one is my favorite so far!
Great communication and super organized makes for easy directions and packet pick up.
Ample, free parking near the start / finish.
Outdoor event with a picnic shelter and 2 permanent outhouses. Port a John’s not permitted by the park so plan ahead for your start!
Choose your distance with 1 lap or 2, this course has a little bit of everything!
Paved bike path, mud, rocks, roots, a couple of water crossings, and tree obstacle! ….and don’t forget the HILLS! I chose the half and earned almost 1500’ of elevation.
The course is well marked with a handful of road and water crossings.
One aid station on course and a second at the start / finish line. Hot soup, sweet & salty snacks, and hydration available.
All athletes get a finishers medal and can choose a plush hoodie or new running socks.
Top 3 overall & age group winners get a nice pin for their ribbon.
I was super nervous about my foot doing this distance on trail and was pleasantly surprised to get 1st place in my age group!

Race Recap By Terri Bednar:

Great race, technical and lots of hills and variety. So much fun! Race was well organized and I would do it again. Met some very nice people on the course.
