Race Recap by Steve Zenar:
I had a nice run at Race for the Parks 5k & 10k this morning. It was a little chilly and a few wet spots on the course but a beautiful sunshiny day to run around the lake. I tried to take it a bit easier than last weeks 5K as I have been experiencing some shin pain but the leg seemed to hold up. I finished 3rd in my age group. This race is always a local favorite run for me and I must say I loved the swag this year. Now to decide what the next race will be.
Race Recap By Terri Bednar:
I participated in the Race for the Parks 10K on Saturday April 20th. I knew the race would be hilly and I was a little skeptical of 2 loops but I really enjoyed the scenery and the variety of elevation. Participants received a finisher medal and a tee with an option to purchase 4 tumblers. Age group place finishers received a pin for their medal. Hot chocolate was served along with water and snacks at the finish line. The snacks were good but hot chocolate didn’t stay hot. Finish line was a little wonky because you went from limestone to an uneven grassy area. Overall it was a fun race and as an added bonus, the sun was out. I would do that race again.
