Race Recap By John Fabianich McClay:

Following two delays, I successfully completed the Dirty Love 8k and 15k. Congratulations to all finishers. Western Reserve Racing consistently delivers well-organized events. The course featured two notable hills and numerous rolling hills. The weather progressed from rain to hail and ultimately snow. I secured 10th place overall and 2nd in my age group, achieving a time of 1:18:30.07. Western Reserve Racing

Race Recap by Josh Keane:

The Dirty Love Trail race, after two postponements, is finally in the books! We had a handful of Team ER peeps there and everyone did a great job on the 15k race. This is a beautiful course starting and finishing at Squires Castle. Mostly single track with a little road, two pretty large hills and mostly rolling hills. We did get lucky with the weather as most of the rain held off. It got colder as the race went on but no complaints here. The start and finish were at the castle so no windows or doors let alone heat! The aid stations were good and the volunteers were awesome. This is a fun race with a beautiful course and I will certainly run this one again.

Race Recap By Terri Bednar:

Did the Dirty Love 15k trail race. There was an 8k option too. Was nervous about it since I haven’t been on a trail since burning river. Was glad I didn’t chicken out and only do the 8k. packet pickup was a breeze, the scenery was gorgeous, course was great and I had so much fun playing in the mud and dirt! I will do this race again!

Race Recap By Lisa Keane:

Race 2 of The Dirty Trail Series, DIRTY LOVE 8K / 15K is a great race for all trail running abilities!
Easy directions and plenty of parking.
Organized and easy packet pick up at the historic and beautiful Squire’s Castle.
No indoor areas to warm up at this race so come prepared with extra layers.
Only 2 outhouses on site (porta John’s not permitted by the park) so there can be a bit of a line before your start.
Early in the year makes for some questionable weather here in Ohio and this race was rescheduled not once, but twice!
Third time was the charm and we had nice running weather with just a bit of rain / hail mid race.
One large uphill at the start and one large downhill at the end with wide, fast rolling trails in the middle. The course is well marked and 100% in park.
Choose one loop or two for your 8K or 15K distance.
One hydration station on the course and an aid station with hot / cold drinks and snacks at the start / finish.
All athletes get a finishers medal and travel mug. Overall and age group winners get a nice pin for their ribbon.
So excited to see our Team ER trail race community growing!
Race Recap By Lynett McClay:
-I-N-A-L-L-Y Dirty Love 8k and 15k . The weather was extremely unpredictable. It started with cloudy skies and temperatures in the 40s, but soon turned windy, rainy, and snowy with cold temperatures. The course had a challenging hill in the first mile, followed by a downhill stretch towards the end and rolling hills in the middle. Additionally, a tough incline led to the finish line when participants were most tired. Hydration aid stations were provided, and the start/finish area offered coffee, hot chocolate, and snacks. Due to park restrictions, only two restrooms were available, as portable toilets were not permitted. The race was confined within the park, with sufficient parking available and easily accessible packet pickup. All participants received a medal and a cup, making this a highly recommended event for those who enjoy trail running, hills, and mud.
