Race Recap By Lisa Keane:

Forget the PR 25k
This was my second year running this one and it is one of my favorites!
Well marked, mostly single track trail through beautiful Mohican State Park with all the rocks, roots, mud, tree hurdles, stream crossings, plus a covered bridge, so many stairs , and a waterfall!
Choose one loop or two for a 25K (this is a LIE – 17+ miles!) or 50K (the 2nd loop is shorter) and get ready to climb! 2890’ of elevation gain for the 25K – my poles came in handy!
Fully stocked aid stations on course with the best volunteers around. Hot lunch and cold beer at the finish!
Clean private hot shower stalls available for all athletes.
Nice swag includes soft SS tee and matching finishers medal.
This race supports local special Olympic athletes who are there to help with opening ceremonies.
I was super nervous going into this race after my half marathon fail last weekend but I redeemed myself shaving 2 minutes off of last year’s time and finishing
18th overall
9th female
3rd age group
Can’t wait to do it all again next year!

Race Recap By Lynett McClay:

Forget the PR 50K and 25K. Boy, did this race make its name. This course is one of the toughest i have done. This course is beautiful. This course consist of mostly single track, rocks ,roots, mud, and the toughest Big Ass Hill. The volunteers were fantastic at the aid stations. They helped you with what ever needs you need from getting your bottles filled to have every snack that could be used for calories. Packet pickup simple with easy directions And plenty of parking for all. All race participants received a soft tee, water bottle, medal at the finish and decorative map of the course. This year i struggled and was exhausted by climbing all those hills. I was only 4 min slower than last year’s time and I am ok with that. Congratulations to all that finished this race.
