Cleveland 10 Miler – Edgewater Park

Jim Dehner – This race has been around for a long time but probably never had better weather. It’s part of the Hermes series in Northeast Ohio and had a real good crowd. The course is a point to point (the finish and start are about 1/4 mile apart. The start is on the western part of the park. The portion that is elevated and the finish is on the eastern lower portion resulting in a net downhill. Between the start and finish is mostly flat out west on Clifton and back.

I finished in 1:29 and took a 3rd place in the 65+ age group (not a big group) and felt good about the day.

Mark Gorris and Scott Mazon – Union Hospital Run for Home 1/2 Marathon, April 14

Yesterday I did a monster brick with some NE Ohio triathletes and fellow Team ER member, Scott Mazon.

We rode 62 + miles, lots of hills and lots of hard pulls.  We arrived in New Philly with time to change into our run gear, then toed the line of the Union Hospital Run For Home Half Marathon.  It was a great day for a road race, although the hills took a hammer to my already sore quads.  I ended up running  1:32 and change, good enough for 24thOA and 4th in my AG.  Of the three people in front of me, only one, Brian Stern, rode 62 miles before the race!
All in all a good training day……MARK

Ray Fryan and Paul Lenz – Boston Marathon

Ran Boston on Monday. My time was 3:21 so did meet BQ standard for age. Being first time there, the race and city were truly an awesome experience, far grander then ever anticipated. I will go and be honored to return and do it again next year. Ray Fryan was also there and went 3:19 running with his daughter.

Jim Ruggles and Jerry Lynch – Amish Roubaix Gravel Road Race

Jerry and I did the Amish Roubaix gravel road race. It was a blast!! 45 miles lots of crazy climbs and even crazier descents. Not sure of places since they had mass start and only acknowledge top three over all but it is a race everyone should look into next season. Extremely well organized and lots of friendly people. The views were awesome for being in Ohio.
