JEANNIE RITCHIE… Tallmadge and Caribbean 5k

I ran the Tallmadge Memorial 5K this past week. Of course I think that this is the best race around! Very well-organized and a fast course. This was my first race back since my injury last July- so it’s great to be back! I was 4th woman overall with a time of 20:15.
I ran this past Saturday, May 31st, at the Caribbean 5K in green. Northcoast Multisports timed the race–Go Mickey! They did a great job as usual. There was a 5K and 10K course, one and two loops. I was 1st female overall and 3rd place overall men and women. I ran a time of 20:36. It was a nice race but the numbers of participants were down this year.

MEDINA 1/2 MARATHON….ASHLEY, RAY

Ashley finished in 2:07:49, 20th out of 69 in her age group, 397 out of 943 overall.
Ray finished 1:28:13, 1st out of 34 in his age group, 21st out of 943 overall.

Excellent race organization and logistics, particularly given it was the first time for this race. We were blessed with really beautiful weather, starting in the mid-50’s and finished around 60. The course was challenging, with a long uphill profile from miles 5 through 10.    (see photo 2014)
