George McFall
George joined Team ER in 2024
He lives in Northfield, Ohio and is a risk manager for PNC Bank where he has worked for over 14 years. George has two kids that currently attend the local high school.
George started running while attending Streetsboro High School where he competed in the mile and 2 mile events. After high school George stopped running but got back into it in 1999 as a way to lose weight. He didn’t immediately fall in love with running but it eventually happened once he hit his weight loss goal, George remembers his first race which was a 10k in Hudson. It was a challenge for him and he got passed by a gentlemen that was much older than him and thought to himself “I have to get better. That can’t happen again.” So George began his commitment to running. It was no longer about losing weight but more about working hard to improve physical health. His desire to be more than just a casual runner took hold and he started competing and doing well in his age group. At that point he never looked back.
George has run 5Ks, 10Ks, 20Ks, half marathons, full marathons, and has even dabbled in ultramarathon distances over the years. His current 5K PR is 20:06. His current marathon PR is 3:20:12 (Columbus Marathon 2018). George is currently working on qualifying for Boston and would also like to complete all six world majors. George has already competed in the Chicago Marathon and New York Marathon. George has also completed a few duathlons and charity bike rides.
George was the president of a running club in Fort Smith, Arkansas called the Western Arkansas Runners (WAR). George joined the running club when he moved their in 2012. He became a better runner while a member of this club. As the president, George enjoyed organizing weekly group runs, monthly meetings, traveling to races with members of the club, and helping others achieve their personal goals. To George this is what it means to be a member of a club and why he was so interested in joining Team ER. George has several friends that are in Team ER and enjoys everyone getting together at races, take team photos, and sharing their race recaps on social media. George is very active on social media and enjoys sharing his love for running with those that follow me in the hopes to inspire and encourage others to run and be active.
