Race Recap By Christine Churpek:

I still can’t believe I was 1st place overall female at the Canal Corridor 50 Miler yesterday!!! What a very special day!
Huge shoutout to race directors Brian Polan and Michael Owen for putting on such a fantastic event. It was the perfect first 50-mile experience!
It definitely wasn’t easy! There were moments when I had to dig deep, push through the pain and fatigue, and remind myself to keep going to reach my goal of finishing under 9 hours. Hard to imagine what it was like for all the people out there running 100 miles!
Thank you to my amazing friends who crewed me, made signs, and cheered me on with puppy Fitz.  Thank you to the volunteers and everyone I met along the course and at the aid stations who helped me get through the miles. The support and encouragement meant so much!
I can’t recommend this race enough, especially for anyone looking to dip their toes into the world of 50 miles and beyond. Such a great course, incredible people, and an experience I’ll never forget!
