Race Recap By John Fabianich McClay:

This weekend, Western Reserve Racing hosted their two-day Summer Sasquatch event. On Saturday, participants had a choice of three events: a 10-mile loop, a 20-mile loop, and a 50k. Sunday’s event featured a single 10-mile loop. I competed in both days, opting for the 50k on Saturday and the 10-mile loop on Sunday. The course was well-marked, with two aid stations and ample parking. On Saturday, around mile 25, a heavy downpour occurred. Despite the weather, I finished 10th overall and 1st in my age group. Sunday’s 10-mile loop was unfortunately a muddy mess due to the previous night’s rain, and I finished 12th and 2nd in my age group. Congratulations to all participants who finished.

Race Recap By Terri Bender:

This weekend I participated in the Summer Sasquatch 20 mile race in Salt Fork State park. There was also a 10 mile and 50k option. It was a beautiful course and very technical with a lot of hills and rough terrain. Directions to the race start were perfect. Packet pickup was super organized and the aid stations were great. They had snow cones which were perfect with the heat. My only complaint is that there wasn’t any real food at the end, just snacks. I ended up placing 2nd in my AG. I will do this race again. Maybe the 50k next year !

Race Recap By Lisa Keane:

One of my favorite Ohio trails – Salt Fork offers all of the elevation, water crossings, & obstacles with scenic lake views.
Late spring rains brought some fun mud this year!
Nice swag – love the soft themed short sleeve t-shirts and matching finishers medal.
Overall and age group awards – Congratulations to all of my Team ER teammates! Everyone placed this weekend!

Race Recap By Lynett McClay:

Summer sasquatch is a 2 day event. You can run sat for a 50k, 20 miler or 10 miler or sunday just 10 miles. Due to a lit of rain this spring made things a little more tricky. Lots of mud puddles and mud. Excellent scenery around Salt Fork Lake.
