I went to the Kickoff 6K race with no preconceived idea of how I wanted to finish. This was my first 6K. I think that helps me relax more and I can just enjoy the run. And I usually end up doing better than I expected. I’m running slightly injured right now, so I was very pleased that I was awarded third place in my age group!!
I honestly very much like the course, mostly because it’s not flat, and has enough turns and because of the out-and-back part of the course, it is fun to cheer others on.

Today was event #45 the Hall of Fame Half Marathon. We started on the football field at 6am and I am so overjoyed with my time! I tried so hard for a sub 2 but it wasnt in the cards for me today but that is ok because I PRed anyways! They changed the course from the last time I ran it in 2024 and it went through some nice neighborhoods. There where a few hills that I hated LOL but overall it was a nice run. I am pretty sore so I will be couching it.

oday did not go as planned. The plan, even being somewhat injured, was to finish the HOF half in 2 to 2 1/2 hours. Was on target until somewhere in mile 5. Then the wheels started falling off for me. Jeff’d the mileage up until mile 11, and then could only walk the rest of the way.
On the positive side, I felt good about my hydration and training leading up to this event, and this course is great, what I would consider fairly flat. It is very well marked, and there were also quite a few volunteers and supporters along the way!
