Race Recap By Terri Bednar:
I woke up today and last minute decided to do the Lifebanc Gift of Life 5K. This race raised funds and awareness for organ and tissue donation. I joined a team with Michelle Cook’s family. 3 members of her family have had double lung transplants. It’s pretty cool! It was pretty well organized and packet pickup was pretty easy. I got in line for packet pickup as I registered online with my phone at 8:03. Race started at 9 sharp. The course was well marked and had plenty of hills. There were clowns, people on stilts, Cavs cheerleaders and the Cavs mascot was there. There were tons of vendors but most of all there were many pics and tributes to donors and recipients. As a nice surprise I was 2 of 28 in my AG! I got a cool tee-and finisher’s medal plus another medal for my age group placement. It was a fun day and I will definitely consider coming back.
