Race Recap By John Fabianich McClay:
Saturday I ran the Leave No Trace Half Marathon. This race is one of my favorite races put on by Western Reserve Racing. Its some what technical, elevation gain 1388 and loss of gain was 1381. This race is 2 loops and 1 aid station fully stocked. This year was a little harder due to the humidity. I finished 17th overall and 1st in my age group. Good job to everyone that finished. I want to say good job to my wife Lynett McClay and Lisa Keane on there finish and placing in there age group and then Josh Keane make sure you HYDRATE BETTER NEXT TIME.
Race Recap By Lisa Keane:
New twist on an old race!
Western Reserve absorbed Minnehaha 15K into the Leave No Trace Half Marathon earning athletes points toward both the Endurance and Dirty Series!
Technical course with elevation earns you hot dogs and snow cones at the finish!
Holy Humidity!- I felt like I was running through water!
I worked super hard and was very happy to place 1st in my age group!
Congrats to my Team ER teammates- Josh took the team name a little too literally!
Race Recap By Lynett McClay:
Leave No Trace behind 1/2 Marathon. HOLY MOLY Humidity!! This race is held at Camp Manatoc. The course consists of your typical trail run which includes rocks, roots, mud and elevation. This is also 2 loop course with 2 full aid station 1/2 way through and a water station. This year with the humidity I really struggled and I had to walk pretty much most of the course. With that being said I did end up getting 3rd in my age group. Congratulations to our Team ER members who finished the race strong and placed in their age groups. John Mark Fabianich Mcclay 1st and Lisa Keane 1st in their age groups. And to Josh Keane next time please hydrate and not end up in the ER!
