Race Recap By Christine Churpek:
Training for the LA Marathon wasn’t just about the miles, workouts, or long runs. It was about being part of something bigger!
I was one of 100 women chosen out of 5,000 applicants for this incredible opportunity with ASICS, Believe in the Run and The Megs!
From the very first day, this experience has been about connection, inspiration, and support. Training in the months leading up to the LA Marathon was hard with the early mornings, brutal winter conditions, and plenty of mental battles along the way. But every step was brighter because I wasn’t running alone. I was surrounded by amazing women who shared their stories, celebrated the small victories, and lifted each other up when it got tough.
Race day brought all the emotions…nerves at the start, focus during the hilly miles and hot weather conditions, and the indescribable mix of exhaustion and joy crossing the finish line. But what made this marathon truly unforgettable wasn’t just the race…It was the friendships I made, the laughter we shared, and the unspoken bond we built simply by being part of this experience together.
To @asics, thank you for the gear that carried me through every training run and race mile, and for creating opportunities that inspire women to push past their limits. To @featherstonenutrition and @meaghanjmurray, thank you for the training and for fostering a community where runners are supported, celebrated, and encouraged to show up for themselves and each other.
Running brought us together, but the friendships, the inspiration, and the shared memories are what I’ll cherish forever. Already dreaming about the next start line with these incredible women.
